We have been doing gardening all day today. David has been pruning some of our trees and I have been chopping the branches to use with our wood burner fire, so I haven't had chance to take a photo today.
I have got blisters, splinters and I shudder to think what I have been bitten by!!! Probably come across the odd red back without even knowing it!!
This photo was taken at Oakvale Farm. He was being chased by two black swans so wasn't in a good mood.
Not the prettiest of creatures is he! Enough to put you off your Christmas dinner.
What an unfortunate looking bird?! That is definitely a face only a mother could love lol! I hope you're putting your feet up after all of your hard work :)
@joluise@tillycarter Thanks both of you. He has really been hit with the ugly stick hasn't he!!! Yes I am having a lazy evening. Removed the splinters from my fingers and have just had a lovely soak in the bath to ease the aching bones!!!
@havrotb Thanks Barbara. An interesting character isn't he. Where do you find the 'favourite of someone else's'? Someone has said that before, but I don't know where it is, or how to post on it. I'd appreciate your help on that one. Thanks.
@heidihp Thanks Heidi. No he wasn't happy, he was being chased by two black swans and they really took a dislike to him. Still got a couple more trees to prune, but the majority of it is done now.
@humphreyhippo I'm with you. That's why I wanted to get his picture. @angelar It does look like a costume doesn't it. I thought he looked like a judge!
Never been a fan of turkey at Christmas, but this has really put me off.
A great capture of a very unattractive bird!! hahahah!! But a really great capture!! He looks a bit worried about that upcoming Christmas season.
Now...don't you feel better about getting all that work done? (done??? never! It is NEVER done!). Lick your wounds ..tomorrow is another day!
@eyesmile He could be worried that Christmas is approaching, but he was more concerned about the two black swans who were chasing him that day!! Who would want to be a turkey!!!
Recovered now from yesterdays tree pruning all ready for spring.
