In October a bush fire went through Fingal Bay and this afternoon I drove up to that area and took another photo of the bush area where the fire was. Today's picture shows how quickly the bush can come back to life in such a short space of time.
PS Only one more photo to go and I have completed my first 365 year.
@gamelee It is so good to see the green again. I think it depends on the intensity of the fire. Certainly in our area it grows back really quickly. If the fire is very intense and the trunk of the trees are severely damaged they don't grow back though.
@angelat Some of the trees on the hills haven't grown back yet, but this area is looking very green. Also the trees at Salt Ash where the other fires were in October have all regenerated too. We went through there on our way home a few days ago.
Wow just one more photo to go, well done, especially when you have had such a difficult year. Sorry I have been awol over the past week but I hope to start catching up a bit now, although we still have our guests with us for another day or so.
@paulaw Thanks Paula. I have been on catch up this month too. Was a bit difficult with Deb being so ill, but now that she is fine again we can all breath easily.
@zenna@mcmary@sunraye@yaorenliu Thanks so much. The Australian bush does come back pretty quickly. Only in very severe fires does it take longer to come back, if at all. Thanks yao, you are right we can all recover. I have had to learn that lesson during 2013.
