The first photo in this diptych is of the beach at the bottom of our road about 200 metres from our house. The second one is the same stretch of beach further around the bay about 6 km from where we live.
Both were taken today, the second one about 20 minutes after the first.
Shh!!! don't tell anyone about where the first beach is. I prefer to keep it a secret.
I guess we are lucky that we live just outside the tourist area.
How lucky are you Babs, but can you swim there, I mean is it safe. We would love to live by the sea instead if the bush but just can't afford to here but at least we know the pool is safe. A lovely diptych.
Super Babs , I was going to say that I know which one I would prefer to stroll along in the peace and quiet -- lucky you --I WILL NOT TELL A SOUL !! LOL :-)
Fantastic diptych - when we went on holiday in Wales we found a similar bit - everyone was at one place and 200 yards away was a quiet little bay. We loved it.
@eyesmile Thanks Gena. I just love walking along the beach (top one) and very often have the beach to myself. We are lucky that we are sandwiched in between tourist beaches, but not many people know about ours. Think we'll keep it that way.
@princessm Thanks Decima, yes a wonderful place to walk and to think too. Very peaceful.
The second beach has a caravan park nearby which is why it is busy I suppose.
@elaine55 Yes Elaine it is safe to swim. No nasties either. All the beaches on the inside of the bay are safe. (Salamander, Nelson Bay, Shoal Bay etc) The other beaches on the ocean side of the bay like Fingal, Anna Bay and One Mile all have surf lifesavers on them and you have to swim inside the flags because of rips etc. Our beach not too many people know about though, we'll keep it that way!!!
It took 16 moves and 3 different countries to find this ha ha. Not moving again.
@hermann Thanks Sally. I don't like the crowds of people either. I don't understand people sitting on beaches, I would get bored. I love walking along the beach. I walk on the top beach every day and love how peaceful it is.
@savannah51 I'm with you Sharon, I love a beach to myself. I can remember walking alaong another of our beaches one evening in winter with David and I said "I'm going back to the car now, getting a bit chilly". David said "Yes it is getting a bit crowded here now". We spotted a chap walking his dog. ha ha.
@iwatts Thanks Ian. Lovely when you can get a beach to yourself isn't it. The second picture here is near a caravan park, so that is why it is crowded I suppose. Plus it is the middle of summer. Luckily not too many people know about our beach. We won't tell anyone.
@sunraye Thanks Raye. It took 16 moves, 3 different countries and 27 years of married life before we found this. Not moving again. Lived here 17 years now.
Love these photos,, we are so lucky in our part of the world to have beaches where we could be the only people on the planet. You feel so free and alive. I am not that far from you.
Wonderful captures Babs.
I have seen a few gorgeous shots of beaches over the last few days. I may have to make a move closer to the beach myself although I do love the country just that little bit more atm. Perhaps when the kids are older and I can enjoy it that little bit more. Thanks for sharing.
@sewsharyn Thanks Sharon and thanks for the follow. It took quite a few moves to find this area, but I am not moving again. We live just outside the tourist area here so the top beach is our local one and never gets crowded. Can't ask for more than that.
