Who remembers hopscotch? I used to love playing hopscotch when I was a child and we drew the squares on the pavement with chalk and used an old shoe polish tin to toss into the squares.
I hadn't seen any evidence of the game for years until I spotted this game at a play park in Nelson Bay. I didn't see anybody playing the game, but I hope someone does remember and play it one day
Lovely colourful shot. There are a few of these around in English parks. Was trying to teach my 2-yr old granddaughter the other week - but she's too little just yet.
We used to use a stone to throw into the squares. I believe kids do still play this but now that you have reminded me I will draw it for the grandkids to play :) Nice find Babs and thanks.
Hopscotch, Kick can a Lurcky, Rusty Bum Finger or Thumb, Stick and Geezer. Winter Warmers, Snobs, and many many more Babs, we used to play for hours and hours, now all the children sit and play on there iPads.
Great image Babs brings back lovely memories of my childhood, our pattern were different to this, two squares then one square then two squares and so on, all chalked on paving slabs outside the house, happy days;)
@jackie8 The park is very popular as it is on the waterfront in Nelson Bay, so I suppose somebody will play hopscotch one day. There is also a giant chess board which is very popular too.
