As today is Anzac Day I thought I would post a photo of the poppies on the Remembrance Wall of the Roll of Honour in memory of the fallen servicemen and women.
Some of you will know that I haven't posted for the last four days due to having no power at home as a result ofthe east coast low which hit the coast of New South Wales earlier this week.
Our power went off at 4 pm on Tuesday and we finally got the electricity restored at 7 pm tonight. I will post photos as fillers showing what has been happening to us over the last few days as soon as I get chance to process some of the photos I have taken during the outage.
We have fared better than others during the storm and its aftermath. Some areas have been completely cut off due to flooding and people have died and houses have been swept away in Dungog which is about 90 km from where I live.
However bad the situation has been to us personally over the last week, we have to be thankful that it hasn't been as bad as the Anzac's had to endure and we should be thankful that we only had to suffer mild inconvenience in comparison. Lest we forget.
Terrific you are back on line Babs! Your storms have been devasting and the clean up will be massive. I'm thinking of you and all the people affected. Now have just seen that a hail storm has gone through! What horrible weather. Now, this is a beautiful photo to remember our ANZACS, and it's wonderful that you still can take the time to think of others. Fav
Have been thinking of you,Babs. I have family and friends up and down the coast, so have been very concerned. I guess it will take a long time for everything to get back to normal. Your photo is meaningful
A wonderful tribute Babs. It must have been a wicked weather event but as you say it pales into insignificance when we reflect on the horrendous conditions facing our Anzacs. Lest we Forget :)
