Oops! by onewing

Oops!

It has bucketed down with rain all day today and I haven't set foot outside, so this is a follow up photo to the one I posted yesterday of the Yarra Valley Railway.

This is where the historic train ended its journey and returned to Healesville.

I believe the rail line is to be extended, but as this track and trains are run by volunteers I think it may be a while before the extension is finished.

Thanks so much to Taffy @taffy Gena @eyesmile and Danny @soboy5 for letting me know that my Sunset after the Storm made it to the top twenty.

I don't usually check out the TT as I wouldn't expect my photos to be on there, but maybe I should. Apparently a few of my photos have appeared on there this year. Thanks so much for all your favs which helped to get it there.
Not sure a train would be able to get passed this section safely! Congrats on the TT.

An abrupt ending to the train journey :) Congratulations on TT

Well done on your TT! This track looks a bit skew just there!

Definitely the end of the line Babs. You will soon have webbed feet at Nelson Bay. We had a beautiful day after the wild weather yesterday, a little crazy to still be wearing shorts, t shirts and thongs in early May in Warwick :)

Sorry for the group reply, but my neck is causing problems tonight and is quite painful.
Thanks everyone for your lovely comments. Some of you asked about the squiffy line.
The Lilydale-Melbourne railway was extended from Lilydale to Yarra Flats (now known as Yarra Glen) on the May 15, 1888 and the line was officially closed to all traffic on March 10, 1983.

Yarra Valley Railway is a heritage railway operating on a section of the former Healesville railway which operated between Lilydale and Healesville in the Yarra Valley.

The Yarra Valley Railway is a not-for-profit and volunteer based group. The society holds an order-in-council to restore and operate the Yarra Glen-Healesville portion of the former Victorian Railways line as a Tourist Railway. Operations are based at Healesville Railway Station and it is a tourist attraction for many visitors to the area.

Eventually the line will be restored to beyond this kink in the rail line. I believe the line was damaged during flood at some time after its closure from active service in 1983.

Loved seeing your photo in the TT! And this one is so funny -- I saw the image, before the title and thought to myself, "oops" -- great minds think alike!
