It has bucketed down with rain all day again today. I have had enough of rain now. Hopefully it will brighten up soon.
We were out this morning and got soaked and this afternoon had friends round for afternoon tea. So no time to take photos.
Today's photo was taken at the Yarra Valley Railway when we were in Melbourne in March.
The top photo is of the train we went on at the Yarra Valley Railway and the people in the photo are David and two of the grandchildren. The bottom photo is one of the trains at Yarra Valley with three of the grandchildren inspecting it.
Thanks to everyone who commented on yesterday's photo. I will try and catch up after dinner tonight.
Got problems with my neck again today and in a lot of pain, so commenting could be a bit limited.
Wonder what we did when we were young to have neck problems! Mine still plays up every so often . It's a pain in the neck isn't it! Love these two shots Babs . It's good to see young boys still interested in engines like the old boy ( sorry Dave) in the first picture!
I'm fascinated! Your top train is the same as the one I went to school on for 6 years! They were the "school" train and not the ones used for every day travels. So pleased to see one still exists :)
@chimfa I can't think what we did when we were young to have neck problems Jane. Could it have something to do with carting boxes from home to home in our previous existence. ha ha. My knuckles still scrape on the ground because my arms have stretched. Oh happy days. Guess who still has some of our triwall boxes in the loft. I bet Ed has got rid of all of yours.
@gilbertwood Fancy that Denise. You will have to go to Healesville to the Yarra Valley Railway and have a nostalgic journey. this is the driver of the train. http://365project.org/onewing/365/2015-05-01 I wonder if he did the school run too.
@chimfa forgot to say, Will is mad about trains, can't think where he gets that from. You can see his interest as he is the one inspecting more closely the train in the bottom of this picture.
What a fun time to spend exploring the old and new trains with you grandkids. Looks like it was a lovely day. We have had several nice days in a row...but will come to an end late tomorrow. Rain, rain, rain for a few days. We do need it, but I love the sun so much!
@davidgnc Thanks David. I think the bottom train will get a new lease of life soon. It is in the process of being restored by the volunteers at the Yarra Valley Railway.
@bugsy The biggest boy is always up front, closely followed by Will. Not a big turn out at club night I think the weather had a lot to do with it. Quite a shame really as Davo H put on a really good presentation.
Lots of rain this side of the country too. I am getting webbed feet. Hope your house hasn't washed away when you get back. When will you be home?
