I will be carrying on posting my holiday photographs for the next couple of weeks as I am pretty busy at the moment with household renovations and clear outs.
When we travelled with the military we did have a few things we got rid of along the way, but since we haven't moved house for the last 19 years our collections have got more and more and now is the time to de-clutter. I might add that some of us are de-cluttering more than others. David is a terrible hoarder and finds it difficult to throw anything out. I think he will need therapy by the time we have finished. ha ha.
Todays photo was taken on the balcony of our cabin on the cruise ship as we sat and watched the sunset and South Island of New Zealand slipping away.
nice to know a 365 friend is travelling the decluttring road with me. My husband wont part with anything much either. beautiful sunset. I always found sunsets at sea wonderful.
Beautiful shot Babs. Love the colours and layers. Isn't it amazing how much stuff you collect over the years. We're (well me) having a clear out as well. I'm trying to see things we've soared through the children's eyes and save them the trouble of throwing it out later!!
Beautiful. Good luck with the clear out. We have been doing the same, for the same reasons. I'm sure we still have some of Dave's wood in our garage! It will be useful one day I'm told.
Beautiful capture with lovely composition and colour Babs, hoarding is a man thing we look at items in a different way, what may seem like junk we consider will possibly be useful in the future, I know from down sizing last year how hard it is to let things go off to be recycled!!!!
This is lovely, the colours are beautiful. We moved last year and had a big clearout, now we seem to be accumulating more things to fill the space we've moved into!
@cruiser@thistle@888rachel@merrelyn@mittens Thanks. I suspect that it will be more of a reshuffle rather than a de-clutter in some areas though. As long as we get some space to be able to find homes for any new purchases we might make.
@chimfa Ha ha, I am sure you will still have some of David's wood collection. You should see it now. He reckons he uses it all the time, but it never gets any less somehow.
@pcoulson We are only getting rid of non essential items, more of a reshuffle rather than a de-clutter I feel. I don't think we could ever downsize. Only the two of us and a 4 bedroom house. We both have too many toys and interests unfortunately. We are slowly working through each room and God know what it will be like when we get to the double garage and the shed.
@john39 We have got lots of things that will come in handy one day and I agree some do, but some don't. The problem is knowing which will come in handy.
@paulaw Ha ha, know that feeling. We both tend to collect things but David is much worse than I am and has such sentimental value to the oddest of things.
Fav. Had a good laugh at the de-clutter. We stay for 33 years at the same place. With children living in the UK we do have their clutter as well to store. Also my year of de-cluttering.
hope you are well...will tey and get around to emailing...i am a bit lazy and behind atm
