Tanilba Bay by onewing

Tanilba Bay

It has bucketed down with rain since yesterday and hasn't stopped for a second. I think I need to borrow the houseboat in this picture.

I took this photo on Thursday at Tanilba Bay when we were out with our walking group. It was quite a chilly day and we walked from Tanilba Bay to Lemon Tree Passage where we had a fabulous lunch.
Lovely shot Babs but it does look like miserable weather.

Lovely shot and reflection.
June 5th, 2016
wonderful clarity.
June 5th, 2016
have been thinking of you as I watch the storm damage! Hope all is ok :) Love this capture too :)
June 5th, 2016
@gilbertwood Thanks Denise, it was pretty wild last night, but although it is bucketing down at the moment the wind has died down. Maybe another front is on its way. Hope it isn't as bad as last year, we lost power for 4 days.

Looks so calm here, I like the idea of a houseboat but only in good weather!
June 5th, 2016
This day sure looks very calm - before the storm??
June 5th, 2016
Very tranquil. Looks like even the houseboat has roofing issues!
June 5th, 2016
Nice reflections.
June 5th, 2016
Lovely capture, reflections and composition Babs, you may wish to reconsider wanting this house boat, I've notice its a convertible with a very iffy tarpaulin roof,
June 5th, 2016
Serene scene!
June 5th, 2016
Definitely the calm before the storm, a very tranquil capture Babs. It has been so cold, windy, heavily overcast and light rain ... a beautiful Stanthorpe day :)
June 5th, 2016
Very tranquil scene. So different from today.
June 5th, 2016
So tranquil, calm and beautiful!
June 5th, 2016
Babs, this is just delightful....so relaxing to view.
June 5th, 2016
Lovely scene. You may need an arc soon :)
June 5th, 2016
Nice shot
June 5th, 2016
@thistle Thanks Joyce, it was a bit nippy. Only reached 16 degrees today too and pouring with rain and gale force winds. Only 6 days into winter too. Luckily here in Australia even in winter it isn't 'winter' every day if you know what I mean, we do have some gorgeous days.
June 5th, 2016
@inthecloud5 You wouldn't want a houseboat here today, we have an east coast low hitting the coast at the moment and it is bucketing down.
June 5th, 2016
@beachdog Too true Barb. Luckily the east coast low didn't hit us so bad this time. Not like last year when we lost power for four days. Hope you are okay.
June 5th, 2016
@pusspup Thanks Wylie. I think the top of this houseboat is more or less a sun roof and the tarp is more for protection during the winter rather than damage to it. I guess after the winds we have had here the last couple of days the tarp will be long gone now. ha ha.
June 5th, 2016
@pcoulson Thanks Peter. The tarp is more for protection I think because the houseboat has a sun roof. Although having said that, the east coast low (a sub tropical storm) that has hit the coast the last couple of days will put paid to the tarp for sure. I suspect it is long gone now.
June 5th, 2016
@hermann Definitely Sal. Although this storm has caused less damage here this time around than it did last year. We have had 150 mm rain in the last 24 hours according to our rain gauge.
June 5th, 2016
@365projectorgjenfurj Very different indeed to today. The wind has died down now though but it is still raining. We got off much lighter this time around. The last east coast low in April last year caused far more damage here and we lost power for 4 days. Hope you are okay. I gather it has gone right down the coast.
June 5th, 2016
@karlow75 Thanks Kane. David is building the ark as we speak. ha ha.
June 5th, 2016
@tonygig @tracie8266 @chimfa @lyndamcg @quietpurplehaze @happysnaps @bkbinthecity Thanks. Much more serene than it has been the last 2 days. An east coast low hit yesterday and today and the weather is wild. Only reached 16 degrees today and the temperature tonight is about 11 degrees C I gather. The wood burner fire is working really hard tonight.

Neat capture, tones
June 5th, 2016
It looks big!!! Pretty scene with the still water.
June 5th, 2016
Sigh...it looks so calm and relaxing.
June 5th, 2016
Lovely capture and I wouldn't mind that houseboat myself.
June 5th, 2016
A lovely composition and very tranquil scene. Fav!! 😃
June 5th, 2016
Really nice - so crisp. love the blues (and that garish roof adds to the overall effect - very clever)
June 5th, 2016
Love the different lines here show on these two boats, one has such gracious lines & the other is a bit of an ugly duckling!
June 5th, 2016
Wow! Love the lighting and reflections!
June 5th, 2016
Sorry to hear about the rain. Hope it isn't long term and you warm up soon. I like the lake (sea?) scene from Thursday - the contrast of the two boats and the way they are reflected on the water.
June 5th, 2016
Very pretty capture, Babs. I like the colors.
June 5th, 2016
It looks like a house in the water.
June 6th, 2016
That scene is so tranquil compared to the weather you're describing. Hope it passes quickly!
June 6th, 2016
@kwind Some of the houseboats here are pretty big. If you look at the black speck on the left of the picture, that is a black swan.
June 6th, 2016
@taffy It was quite calm, what a difference a few days make. http://365project.org/onewing/365/2016-06-06
June 6th, 2016
@ladymagpie I'd love a houseboat too. They have much more character than some of the flash boats we have in our area.
June 6th, 2016
@carolmw Thanks Carol. Not so tranquil over the weekend and today though.
June 6th, 2016
@helenm2016 Thanks Helen. I think the roof on the houseboat is just a tarpaulin to keep out the rain because it has an open top sun roof.
June 6th, 2016
@yaorenliu Thanks Yao, we have some lovely houseboats in our area.
June 6th, 2016
@helenhall @shesnapped Thank you both. Not so serene and calm over the weekend and today though. http://365project.org/onewing/365/2016-06-06
The east coast low is moving down the coast now though and has just hit Tasmania.
June 6th, 2016
@happypat A lot of the houseboats in our area are of the ugly duckling variety, but they cost quite a lot of money to buy, so an expensive ugly duckling I would say.
June 6th, 2016
beautiful color and reflection....
June 6th, 2016
Always been fascinated by houseboats. Nice shot!
June 7th, 2016
I always fancied owning a houseboat until I got serious about it and looked at one. They're a lot of work. You'd need a 'boat boy'.
June 9th, 2016
Lovely, tranquil scene
