When I was looking through my old photos to find yesterday's shot I came across a couple more Sydney photos that I hadn't posted previously, so here is one them.
This is the barrel vault ceiling at the Queen Victoria Building in Sydney. I just love this building with all its history.
The Queen Victoria Building opened in 1898. Designed by George McRae, it replaced the original Sydney Markets and was named to honour the monarch's Diamond Jubilee. Elaborate Romanesque architecture was chosen for the grand building, which housed a concert hall, coffee shops, showrooms, warehouses and a wide variety of tradespeople.
Great photo. I think I missed this building when we were in Sydney. Of course, of the 4 days we were there, we were sick with the flu for three of them, so we missed a lot of Sydney before flying home.
