Horse Race

Sorry for the mass upload, but I am trying to catch up and fill in gaps from when I was away.

Hopefully after today I will be up to date.

I thought it appropriate that this photo, taken at Hunter Valley Gardens, should be posted on the 1 August.

The 1 August in Australia is officially the Horses Birthday.

Most horses, especially racehorses, birthdays are celebrated on 1 January in the Northern Hemisphere and 1 August in the Southern Hemisphere.

A horse born towards the end of the year or close to August would be considered a year old on those dates.

The 1 January and 1 August birthdays are really for horses in competitions. You can choose to celebrate your horse's birthday then or on the actual date of birth.
