Strawberry Guava Flowers by onewing

Strawberry Guava Flowers

I am a bit late posting tonight because we have been out all day, first for a light lunch in Newcastle, followed by the play at Newcastle Theatre Company performance of Relative Values by Noel Coward. NTC is an amateur theatre company, but they are absolutely brilliant.
This evening we went out for a dinner with the friends who came to the theatre with us.

It has been a lovely day, but marred slightly by the fact that I have had another bout of diverticulitis and have been in rather a lot of pain today. Luckily I enjoyed the play because we just had to sit and that eased the pain in my tummy. I am feeling slightly better this evening, but I will be off to bed soon.

While I was gardening a few days ago I thought I would take a few photos of flowers in the garden. As you know I don't very often post photos of flowers, but over the next few days I will be posting a few shots of the flowers in my garden.

Here are the flowers from a strawberry guava bush. We didn't plant it, it just appeared a few years ago, the seeds probably deposited by passing birds. We had no idea what it was but I posted a shot of the fruit on 365 a couple of years ago and Peter Coulson @pcoulson recognised it and identified it for me.

The possums and birds love the fruit so we decided to keep the bush.

I will be posting two shots of these flowers because I am not sure which is best. This one David preferred, but the one I am posting in my Topics album I preferred. Which do you think is best.

Ps, I see you took it with a TZ 80. Are you happy with tbe camera? I have some problems, could you please advise me on the settings. Especially whe to use what ISO. I would be so grateful 😀

@ludwigsdiana I have only used the TZ80 for macro shots so far so don't use it very much. I only bought it a few weeks ago to use as a handbag camera. I was introduced to it a couple of months ago when I was trying it our for a disabled friend of mine. He wanted a light camera that was easy to use from his wheelchair and another friend of mine lent me her TZ80 to check it out. I was impressed with it as a small camera so I decided to buy one myself. I don't know what you want to know about ISO settings, but there are lots of tutorials on the Internet that could help you. If you want to know specifics I could let you know, but just asking when to use what ISO is a bit general.
This a link from a google search that may help you.

They are lovely looking flowers. Hope you feel better soon Babs.

I think I prefer the other photo. The detail of the blossoms stand out more and in this one the leaves seem to take prominence.
Sorry to hear you are not well. Not a nice condition at all. Hope this acute stage passes quickly.

I like all the fronds on these pretty flowers. I sincerely hope you feel better very soon, diverticulitis is not fun at all. Much love.

@365projectorgjenfurj @casablanca Thanks. Doctors appointment this morning and I have got antibiotics now so they should kick in soon. I haven't had a really bad bout of diverticulitis for 2 years so It knocked me back a bit. Damned painful. Didn't stop me from going to the play yesterday though or running our U3A photo course today either. I will be taking it easy tonight though. At least my temperature has gone back to normal again now. It takes a lot for me to stop altogether. I must admit I haven't caught up with 365 as much as I would like though, I will rectify that this evening.
