I will be a bit limited on commenting on 365 this week because we have so many things on at the moment.
Last week David and I went to the Hunter Valley Gardens Christmas Lights display and it was fabulous.
Not all the displays had a Christmas theme so for this week I will post some of the non Christmas theme lights and closer to Christmas I will post some of the Christmassy ones.
These giant toadstools/mushrooms were in the Storybook section of the gardens. It looks quite nice on black.
@365projectorgjenfurj We have lived here a long time and this is the first time we have been to the Christmas lights. I am sure you will enjoy it. It is spectacular.
@happypat I always shoot night scenes in manual Pat. I start off at f5 ISO 200 and about 1/10 sec and as it gets darker I change the ISO to 400 and the shutter speed to 1/25 sec. I find with my camera that anything above ISO 400 on my camera makes the shot a bit grainy. I can go to ISO 800, but not beyond that. It is usually trial and error and just knowing where the settings are for your camera. I always use a tripod or monopod for night scenes as I can't hold my hand steady enough hand held. In these shots I had my lightweight tripod with me but most of the time I had the legs tucked in so it was more a monopod really because there were lots of people around and I didn't want to trip them up with my tripod in the dark.
