Here is a collage of photos taken at Tocal Homestead yesterday at their Peek into the Past open day.
The clouds looked very dark when we arrived and there were a couple of drops of rain, but luckily the clouds cleared quickly and it turned out to be a beautiful winters day. I think the temperature reached 23 degrees C. My kind of winter weather.
I will post more photos over the next couple of days.
that temperature sounds about right for perfect summer weather over here. The collage looks great with the unifying factor of the uniforms. Must have been quite a display.
@suzanne234 It was only about 23 degrees C so they weren't too hot. 23 is a coolish day here.
@flowerfairyann They were serious, they were more like Dad's Army so probably had to concentrate to remember what they had to do next.
@carole_sandford The Union Flag was used in Australia by the military until Federation in 1901. Each of the 6 colonies prior to Federation had their own flags.
@olivetreeann I don't know for sure, but I would strongly suspect so. Australia was founded as a convict settlement with British Marines and other military in charge. I assume they wore the British uniforms of the time. Pictures of various Governors (all military/naval) show them in full dress uniforms.
@golftragic Going good Marnie, I will email you as soon as my feet stop running. A busy and emotional week this week. John's funeral on Thursday.
We had a lovely day out on Sunday though, just what the doctor ordered.
