I am a bit late posting tonight because I have been out all day again today. Cinema this morning with friends to see Tolkien and then this afternoon to a talk at our local U3A. Both really good, but as I had been sitting most of the day I decided to go for a bracing walk on the beach this evening.
Thanks for putting my Grey Day photo on the TP and PP yesterday. The rain has stopped today which is nice but it is still pretty chilly.
As I haven't looked yet at the photos taken this evening at the beach I am posting a collage of photos taken at our local Arts Centre garden at the weekend after we had been to the market.
As you know I don't very often take photos of flowers, but even though it is winter there were some lovely flowers at the garden.
No idea what most of the flowers are but they do look rather pretty.
Gorgeous collage full of colour Babs, each image beautifully captured, what a lovely selection of flowers but Snowdrops in New South Wales I would not have expected to see:)
beautiful Babs - looks like there's a couple of bromeliads, a hibiscus, a red hot poker, a crucifix orchid, snow drops and the other three are really familiar but can't recall their names atm
@onewing I always try to identify flora and fauna when I am out and about - I think the yellow one might be coreopsis......I knew the bromeliads because I love the flowers they produce
are the white ones a jonquil or daffy?
@annied Wrong time of year for coreopsis and I think the edge of the petals are more jagged on a coreopsis, but I did think jonquil for the white flower when we were at the art centre, so that could be right.
A beautiful well proportioned Ed collage...all a uniform size which isn’t easy to get! A busy day Babs, you have lots of energy...I reckon I only have the energy for one event a day!
@happysnaps Thanks Valerie. I think the white flower is a jonquil.
@sangwann It isn't my garden Dionne it is the garden at our local Art Centre
@peterday I am not good at identifying flowers either but I did know a few of these.
@merrelyn Yes Merrelyn I am with you on the jonquil, but not sure about the one you think is a marigold. I looked it up on Google and I can't see one that looks like this. Next time I am at the art centre I will have to ask someone to identify the flowers for me.
@happypat Thanks Pat. It wasn't too much of an energetic day, sitting in the cinema watching Tolkien and sitting at Trevor's talk on being an RAAF pilot and a Cathay Pacific pilot wasn't too strenuous.
@casablanca I know, flowers! I have a few more to post too, but I am back on the medication now so should be right again in a few days.
@pcoulson not quite cold enough today for snow ha ha but we do get snowdrops and even have them growing wild
