Well not quite Africa, it is the east coast of Australia really at my favourite Birubi Beach about 15,000 km from the north coast of Africa. The sand, camels, pyramids (tank traps really) and dunes do give it a North African feel though.
It is so nice to see the camel rides back at Birubi as Covid restrictions ease.
What an exotic shot...and so well composed with all those pyramidic shapes leading to the camels, that in turn lead further in to whatever those other vertical lines are that lead even further in. Just a big wow!
Looks like they could be on their way to China with that yin and yang emblem on one pyramid. This is a fun shot- it really has an international feel to it- African desert, Egyptian pyramids and Australian beauty!
@casablanca I am sure the smiley face is watching.
@pcoulson I think it was about 10 am and this was the first ride of the day. Not many people there when I arrived, but by the time I was leaving a lot more cars were there so I guess the camels were kept busy all day.
@olivetreeann Indeed, we are very multicultural, ha ha.
@happypat Yes, I love the camels too they always have such gorgeous expressions on their faces.
@moviegal1@pyrrhula Thanks it is so good to see the camels back at the beach
@sprphotos They will be filled with people even though we are in semi lockdown too. This was the first ride of the day, on a weekday too and not many people on the beach at that time. As I was leaving more people were arriving, so I would imagine the camels had a busy day ahead. They are a popular tourist attraction.
Beautiful Babs! I checked to see if it was Stefano Trezzi’s picture from Abu Dhabi. I’ve never been to Australia and I’m afraid I’ll never will, so your picture has given me a glimpse into the unknown!
