It was so good to be able to visit our live amateur theatre again as restrictions have eased in Australia.
The NTC always put on such excellent plays and the actors are all incredible.
The foyer of the theatre is always decorated appropriately for the play that is being shown and yesterday when we visited the theatre for the first time in 8 months it was lovely to see the foyer decorations again.
The play we saw was Present Laughter by Noel Coward as the billboard shows and all around the foyer were portraits of each of the actors in the play, painted by two local artists. I took photos of each of the paintings and put them in this collage.
The paintings were for sale at $250 each and I wonder if any of the actors bought the painting of their character.
Fab collage and so glad theatre is back for you. My son's godfather is an actor and is grateful for audiobook work presently - no live theatre happening here and it is heartbreaking.
@maggiemae The picture on the left is the programme of the play and then I took photos of each of the paintings and cut and pasted them into a collage in Photoshop.
@casablanca It must be hard for actors at the moment. Glad the teenagers godfather is able to get audiobook work at the moment. Luckily the actors at the NTC are all amateur and all have 'day jobs'
@wakelys@olivetreeann Maybe I should email this photo to the Theatre Company they could use it in their newsletter.
@tunia She was adorable. I don't know if you have seen the play but the girl you mentioned is a young girl called Bridget Barry who plays the part of Daphne Stillington a young debutante and ardent admirer of the main character Garry Essendine.
All the actors were brilliant and the paintings show the characters to perfection.

The last play we went to was at the beginning of March, just before lockdown.
