Last weekend we visited Tanilba House as it was their 190th anniversary celebration.
Tanilba House was built by convicts for Lieutenant William Caswell who received a land grant of 50 acres on March 31, 1831.
The previous owner of Tanilba House was a lady called Helen Taylor. She was quite a character and had lived in the house since the 1950's. We knew Helen very well as we had photo club photo shoots there and we had a photography exhibition at Tanilba House once too. Sadly Helen died in 2015 age 80 and the house was sold to the current owners Glenn Short and Deidre Hall. Most of the furnishings were already in the house but Glenn and Deidre have added a few extras along the way. It is now open to the public on occasion and also a venue for weddings and B & B accommodation too.
All the photos in this collage except the centre one were taken last Sunday when we visited. The centre photo of the house itself was taken by me a few years ago when we spent the day at Tanilba with our photo club. The Rolls Royce in front of the house belongs to Roy, a friend of ours. I think it fits quite nicely on the property, but I doubt Roy will be selling his Roller any time soon.
Wow! My place to visit. I always love to visit beautiful mansions like this with their interesting furniture. Beautiful shots to give us an insight on this one.
We asked Roy to park in front of the house so we could photograph it as part of our photo shoot.
