Last Sunday we visited Tanilba House for their 190th anniversary celebration.
Yesterday I posted a collage of the house itself and today here are some of the people who dressed for the occasion.
The poor convict on the left is in the lock up at the back of the property. Tanilba House was built by convicts for Lieutenant William Caswell in 1831 and I guess not all of the convicts behaved themselves so ended up in the lock up on occasion.
The centre photo is of the current owners Glenn Short and Deidre Hall. Glen and Deidre purchased the house in 2017 and have spent a couple of years restoring it.
The lady on the right is in charge of serving the Devonshire teas to eager customers.
Great photos! Love the expressions of the characters. The convict looks angry, the owners look happy and proud and the last lady really enjoys herself!
What a delightful triptych and narrative , They all look the part - but I couldn't keep my eyes off those cream teas ! ha . What a lovely day out for you !

@wakelys I guess he must have stolen the watch which is why he was in the lock up.
@beryl We were very good and passed on the tea and scones because we were going out for lunch after our look around Tanilba House.
@terryliv Was your gg grandfather a convict or a captain?
