I have had a lazy day at home today because the weather has turned chilly and it has rained all day. Looks like Autumn has finally hit.
We had 2 cubic metres of logs delivered yesterday and luckily we got them stacked and dry in our log shed before the rain set in. We are all set for winter now.
This is another photo taken at Patonga a couple of months ago.
I love how the tree in this courtyard café is decorated with glass fishing floats.
Just been told that my Sailing into the Light photo is on the TT. Thanks so much for putting it there.
Well deserved and congratulations Babs , Love this collection of floats - Is it the same cafe which had the lobster-pots lampshade - If it is they have a very attractive themed place !
Lovely decorations. Cool idea to use them as decorations. We should be heading into Summer but this last week has been dull, windy and I to add layers on again.
This is great fun! I still smile at "cubic metres" of logs. We just cut down two huge trees and chopped them into bits. They have dried out nicely in the woodstore and kept us going for years now! The ultimate recycling, I guess.
@casablanca We're only just getting used to having to buy wood after being in this house for 25 years. We have either had friends who have had trees lopped in the past and we acquired the wood or had to take out 4 of our trees because they were growing too close to the house and the wood from those have kept us going for quite a few years too. Easier on the chain saw and log splitter but harder on the pocket now, ha ha. Only money though.
@beryl Yes it is the same cafe, The lobster pots were inside and this is in the courtyard out the back. A lovely setting for outdoor eating.
@kjarn Cold here too. Somebody flicked the winter switch.
@peadar Thanks Peter. I am glad the logs are in too. Haven't lit the log burner yet but we did put the reverse cycle air con on last night especially at midnight when we watched Prince Philip's funeral. We are 9 hours in front of you so we had quite a late night last night.
Nice capture.
Congratulations. Well deserved
