Kurri Kurri Murals Collage

Over the next few days I will be posting photos of the Kurri Kurri murals taken last Sunday when we visited with friends.

It is so sad to see the decline of Kurri Kurri, especially since Covid. Almost all the shops are boarded up and closed.

Kurri Kurri is an old mining town and has been in decline for years but since lockdown it has deteriorated considerably.

The bottom right photo in this collage is on the wall of the fire station. Lucky the firemen were on hand to save the building, ha ha.

Lovely murals. Maybe the town will evolve into art colony of sorts. Here in Arizona, Jerome was an old copper mining town and has now re-invented itself as an "Arty Town"
