Still a bit absent. We have been in Newcastle again today to the John Hunter Hospital where David had to have an MRI.
It was an early start and we had to be there at 7.30 am. At least there was no problem parking at the hospital at that time of the morning.
The cafeteria as you can see wasn't too occupied either. I did think of having a cuppa while I wanted for David but decided to just sit and read my book instead, once I had taken a few photos of course.
I quite like the photos on the wall of the cafeteria taken by a local Newcastle photographer.
Nice photos on the wall. As a hospital manager myself, there's something about this type of cafe that I find quite enervating. It wouldn't take much to give it a bit more user comfort and engagement, would it? Hope the results are helpful.
It all looks very neat & tidy….that was an early start Babs, do hope David is coming through all the tests well…a worrying time. We have to be at our hospital in the morning but not until 10.30am. Harry is having a hip op early July so blood tests etc!
@peadar This particular cafeteria is where hot meals are served and it gets very busy. I agree it does look a bit stark but it is is easy and quick to clean after each customer has finished and it always looks neat even when busy. I prefer clean and neat to cosy in this situation especially during Covid times. There are three other cafeterias that are more cosy looking than this one where you can get just drinks and cakes etc.
@happypat This cafeteria does get very busy and it is where hot meals are served so must get very busy and messy at times. It does look a bit stark as some have mentioned but I prefer stark than cosy as it is very easy and quick to clean at busy times of the day. Hope all goes well for Harry. It was an early start but at least we didn't have any problem parking.
@k9photo@Dawn I agree but it is easier to clean especially as it gets terribly busy here because it is where hot meals are served. There are three other cafeterias where just drinks and cakes etc are served and they look more cosy than this one.
@ludwigsdiana @casablanca @joansmor @louannwarren @sangwann @joysabin @gijsje @denful @beryl Thanks. The MRI was the last of David's tests now and he then has to go back to see the neurosurgeon to see why he had the pulmonary embolisms last year and stroke in March especially when he was already on blood thinners.

Hope the MRI went well.
