They look like invaders from outer space!! Lots of huge jellyfish stranded on the beach when the tide had gone out. They were all about 12 inches in length. Yesterday on the news they said that a 5 foot barrel jellyfish was seen off the coast on Cornwall - not far from here!! The locals have said that this year there have been lots of large jellyfish washed up on the shore. We are used to seeing smaller ones but not these big boys. I was frightened they would still have a sting as they didn't look dead so I kept the dogs well away from them.

Wow...that is quite something to find on the beach and sort of sad to see them looking like that instead of what we see in the aquarium. But I wouldn't want to encounter it in the sea!
Yuck, hate jelly-fish, especially the ones that sting. I believe that climate change and changes in water temperature is causing a population explosion of jelly-fish in some places.
