I apologise now for anyone who does not know the comedy sketch with Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett known as "Four Candles". A chap goes into an ironmongers store and asks for four candles and the assistant brings out four candles. The chap say no - four candles!! and so it goes on. What he is actually asking for is Fork Handles. It is a very funny sketch but has probably lost something in my translation!! Sorry!!
So this morning I decided to make a set in the garden to get a natural shot of my robin. I bought some dried mealworms to tempt him. I placed the garden fork near a bowl of mealworms and put a couple on top of the fork. As I was sitting patiently waiting for any sign of the robin I remembered what today's topic was - candles and I thought of the Two Ronnies sketch and had a giggle to myself. Still no sign of the robin but I have my shot for the day!! LOL!!
Well done you !! --the comedy sketch Four candles often comes up in our house !! In fact yesterday morning my friend was in for a coffee & said she had bought a new candle holder & needed to buy Three candles !! I enquired *Four Candles ?? *
yep........love that sketch and I am sure we went past an ironmongers type store is Suffolk called Four Candles!! Shame you didn't get the robins, but those meal worms seems to be having a good natter!
Loved reading your commentary. Helped me understand the shot, which was pretty on its own, but even funnier and more clever knowing what four candles meant in the sketch!
Wonderful capture....love the dof! Great story too!! Love it when we can giggle when no one else is around!! Thank you for the visit, fav and follow! Following back.
Fab sketch and fab take on the word today :))
Reminds me of a shot I did a while ago http://365project.org/bulldog/365/2012-12-15
