How exciting a new little visiter to my garden this morning. I have never seen one of these before and had to get the bird book out. I think it is a male Black Cap but please put me right if that's wrong as my IDs are a bit suspect sometimes!! He flew into this shrub and stayed for a couple of minutes and then was gone. Take note I have used ISO 3200 so the shot has some noise. It was pouring with rain - again - and quite dark so I was pleased to even get this shot!!
Many thanks for your wonderful comments on Mrs Blackbird yesterday. At least I can get some bird shots even if I can't get out!! I might do some macro shots later.
Lovely little thing I miss the birds in our garden I've had to stop feeding them as our cat is too good a hunter and its heartbreaking when she gets one 😞so best they visit elsewhere
How delightful and a super little fellow I haven't seen any of these for years -- but for some unknown reason I have very few different birds coming to my garden in recent years !!
How wonderful to have a blackcap overwintering here. They usually leave for Africa at the end of summer. I suppose it's still quite mild here but guess this little chap may need a few scraps. Beautiful, lucky you!
@rosiekind many thanks Rosie for the lovely comment and Fav! Very much appreciated! I managed to get rid of most of the noise in LR but it looses some clarity. Still good for hand held in such bad light! I love my camera and big lens!
A wonderful shot, it is so nice he came by to get his photo taken. I hope he comes back on a better day for you. Sorry you still aren't up to getting out and about.
Great shot, they do like to keep out of sight, male Blackcap, female got a brown cap. If it came in to a feeder it should come back, with it's mate, but keep your eyes open, they sneak in and out really fast . Bad weather, steady food supply, you might get to keep them all year.
