It was quite an eventful morning at the country park. I was trying to get a shot of a huge dragonfly and had Finlay on the lead which was held between my knees. There were about 10 swans in the lake a little way in and Finlay decided to go in for a paddle. This swan started to hiss at Finlay and I called him to come out of the water. The swan started flapping at Finlay which is this shot and suddenly Finlay took a dive and tried to get the swan!! Needless to say the swan swam away and Finlay just got wet. I managed to get a shot of the dragon flying away!!
Many thanks for your great comments and Favs on yesterdays shots especially the little train - so pleased you liked it.
Fav for a great shot and wonderful detail but Finlay was lucky as swans have been known to break a person's leg with their wings. (I can just imagine Jinks doing the same!)
Finlay is brave and lucky. I was chased by a swan and i Jumped a wall to get away (one I'd never have attempted under normal circumstances. It's amazing at what adrenalin can do! Fav
LOVED your commentary and can just imagine the decision-making: Save Finlay...take a photo...worry about swan?...take photo...etc. Glad Finlay only got wet!
Must have been quite comical to see! Glad though that all was fine in the end. I must say these types of situations are why I never wrap the lead around me in any way. At least if the mutt decides to take off they won't pull me with them. I have heard of folks breaking wrists or ankles because they had the lead wrapped around them!
Love it. Dogs will be dogs. I'm also finding it difficult to try to get photos while also hanging on to Bradley's leash. He knows what the word "wait" means, and that SOMETIMES works. Not always, however.
