Had a walk round Bakewell this morning attempting Street photography for my mentoring group. After trying shooting from the hip and the shots were all at 90 degrees I decided it was time for a coffee. I am sitting outside a lovely coffee shop on the 6th November - WOW. So I am sitting in the street - does this count as street photography? LOL!! I am saving some of my other shots for next week when we are starting our first week of street photography. Just in case I can't get any when I go home.
Bakewell is very touristy so taking photos is not unusual.
Many thanks for your lovely comments on yesterday's shots - always very much appreciated!!
This is great Pam such great clarity and POV, anything that goes with coffee in my mind counts as a street shot!!! Is the task to shoot from the hip or are you just nervous?
if its just nerves just go for it, most people are too busy to notice that you are taking photos with them in it. Hope I'm not trying to teach you to suck eggs
@denisefuller One of the suggestions was to shoot from the hip so you are not noticed but my first attempts were useless!!. I tried some other shots with my wide angle lens and after a few goes got brave enough to focus on near people but pretended I was taking a shot of something else. When I go home I will try with my point and shoot as it's a lot smaller and less noticeable. We start next week and hopefully by the end of the month I will feel more confident with street photography. I always love to hear any advice Denise!! Many thanks.
What a great mix of sugars, so much better than those little paper spills. PS I can't get my head around shooting from the hip - despite having plenty of hip/s to do it with/round.
This looks lovely and sweet. Ha, I tried shooting from the hip today too, and I don't like any of them. Almost easier just to take a quick proper photo. Hmm, I need more practice.
