5th September 2015 - Begonia

Our little mentoring group is going to be concentrating on B&W for the next couple of weeks. One week natural light and the next artificial light. Just having a play today. This begonia is in a pot in the garden and in colour there didn't seem to be much detail. Converted to B&W in Nik efex pro and I seem to have got a lot more detail out. I think the week with artificial light is going to be a challenge!!

I think I needed a deeper dof for this shot.

Yup, deeper dof would have been good but the b and w is marvelous

Fun to see your monochrome play...and agree it is worth attempting a deeper DoF or maybe focus more toward the front. Inspiring me to get going on something.

Stunning!

This is such a gorgeous flower! I agree a larger dof, or if the focus was on that bit sticking up at the front. Beautiful though.

I quite like the shallow DoF here, gives more focus to the drops on the petals. I like the way the b&w brings out the shapes and lines of the flower

Great toning in this shot Pam, very soft and fluid lines too.
