This is half an hour after sunset last night. The sky was so beautiful changing colour all the time and it was reflected in the water. The little dots flying are four army helicopters flying round. They were obviously on night training as at 2am they flew directly overhead and woke the dogs who then wouldn't stop barking!! The noise was so loud it made me think how awful and scary it must be in a war situation when these big helicopters come flying in. No I couldn't get back to sleep!!
I remember at the first camera course I did the tutor telling us to not walk away from the sunset that the best colour comes half hour after the sun goes down ... and always look behind you ... this shot is proof of that ... lovely shot .. pity about the helicopters disturbing your sleep...
So beautiful, Pam. I grew up by an Air Force base in West Texas. There was always something loud happening. They constantly broke the sound barrier, plus all the other plane sounds. We did get used to everything but the sound barrier breaks were too loud to ignore.
