Interesting what the camera picks up! I feel that the present idea of a large picture here on 365 is not altogether good for what you say, John @johnsutton
@maggiemae I view all the pictures on my computer screen and definitely think three or four times before I make a critical comment. In this case I know Phil and he can tell me off in the morning at work, but generally if there is something doesn't sit right I won't comment, which in itself doesn't sit well as what I like about 365 is not just sharing pictures, but understanding how other people view them and what I could do better or differently. I'm also my own worst critic 🙂
@maggiemae@johnsutton I don’t have the benefit of a large screen during the week, just the 3.5” screen on the camera and my iPhone, so can’t say if out of focus on a large screen.
I can tell you that it’s taken with a macro slr lens, with a very short focal length, manual focus on only ‘one’ part of the stamen. Due to the closeness of the lens to yhe subject, everything else will be / should be out of focus, which is what it looks like on my iPhone.
That said, I know John uses a computer to view his (and other) pictures, so it's possible the whole thing is out of focus. Always happy to be the recipient of critiscism, it’s what 365 is about 👍
@johnsutton Perhaps I did not make myself clear, looking over my comments. I feel that the larger picture can show more faults or out of focus points and I would rather see a smaller size picture. I see them on my computer and feel that they are too large now - sort of overpowering - didn't used to be!
@maggiemae I understand what you mean and to a certain extent agree with you which is one of the reasons I don't usually comment as I realise pictures are viewed differently, not just by the media it's on but also everyone has there own understanding of what they like.
Besides Phil has been getting so many excellent pictures onto PP and PT he does need a dose of what us(me) lesser mortals produce 😀
Ooops It doesn't take a lot for a macro shot to be out of focus mate. Tis a little soft, but still a lovely shot. Gorgeous colour and pattern on the leaves :)
