@judithg Sunny again this morning but now I have to take Jinks to the vet with a limp - we had 3 long walks last week in the sun but think it may be more than the extra exercise. I really hate it when he's not right.
@tishpics
Jinks had some matted hair in between his pads on his paw and it was raw where he had kept licking it. The vet cut away the hair with a little shaver & he has cream to put on it (well I'll do it for him!), painkillers which are small and go down well in a bit of brie, and has to wear the lampshade collar so he does not lick the paw again. All these for about 5 days.
A relief as I had convinced myself he had arthritis or a growth on his foot! I'm totally hopeless when there is anything wrong with him!!
@quietpurplehaze So pleased for you! I know just how you feel, nothing else matters when they have a problem. I had to chuckle at the thought of Jinx having Brie ...!! Bertie is not the only spoilt dog then (although he is happy to settle for cheddar!)
@quietpurplehaze Monty has been licking away at his foot again - no limp yet though. He's had the hard fur lumps before and he howls like a baby when they cut them off at the vets. I'm going to have to brace myself for a foot inspection but he fights like mad even when they are fine!
@judithg Oh you've made me feel better as I was feeling it was my neglect as I am the one responsible for Jinks' grooming. Jinks did not make any fuss at the vet's but a nice nurse had him in a headlock (think that was what the vet said & i've tried to remember what it looks like so Neil can practise it on Jinks when I have to put the cream on his foot!) Jinks hates me doing anything to him and growls ferociously!
@quietpurplehaze I need Nigel for that - he sticks his arm in Monty's mouth while I extract grass seeds etc - I'm not sure it can wait for him to come home though this time :0( Those hard lumps appear really quickly - we get Monty's feet groomed right back but they still form if the weather's been wet - and let's face it......
