Ray hasn't made bread today and I won't be going near a wheat field so I have no traditional shot for thanksgiving/harvest time.
I did read that Lammas used to be a time for trying out partners and for young people to have a trial marriage lasting the period of the fair (11 days) to see whether they were really suited for wedlock. At the end of the time they could part if they felt they were not suited.
But I can't post a shot to illustrate that, either, so here are courgettes, yellow and green, harvested from her garden and given to Ray by a rambler friend. And very good they were, too.
Thanks, Graham, it took quite a bit of extra time out of the dinner prep as it was indoor light and a yellow courgette gets rather reflective.
