elm tree blossom

Not so many elm trees about since Dutch elm disease but luckily for me there is one just up the road from us.
So beautiful, Hazel. I was a child of 8 when I learned about Dutch elm disease, and it decimated the trees on our 12-block long street lined with these. I'm glad to see one here and hope they'll make a comeback.

It's such a shame our Ekm trees are thin on the ground now, it's a beautiful tree.
I have a poem on the fireplace which tells us what wood burns best for a fire. Not much praise for the elm tree!
Elm trees burn like graveyard mould,
E'an the very flames are cold.

Can't remember having seen elm tree blossoms earlier, although I know street in a nearby village with elm trees on both sides. Will have a look there, one of these days...

Excellent focus. We used to have an elm tree in the garden at one of our married quarters when we were in the UK. I believe it died too.
