Second [self-] challenge

Painted Lady; wings down. This one probably doesn’t have wings all-the-way-down, but this is probably as good as I am going to get. The Painted Ladies (or Lady, if there’s just been this one!) at our butterfly bush have been very skittish and fly away before I can approach very close.

Now I promise to “lay off” the V. carduis; this is the sixth…
