it's a hot and humid day in toronto today, but in the afternoon, there was a nice breeze. looking out from my boss' office, i saw these two trains below - the GO train, the green one, was leaving the union station, to ferry off the suburbanites back to their homes to celebrate the canada day long weekend. the gray one, is the via train (its first two cars are amtrak's) going into the station.
i feel so unmotivated and unispired. maybe in part because today i finally let myself mourn the death of a friendship. someone who used to be my 'buddy' betrayed me last year in the beginning of fall. she never apologized when it was all that would have made things better. you cannot hurt somebody and expect everything to be hanky-dory without as much as "i'm sorry". no, it's a matter of principle. i would never do and never had done what she did to me to any of my friends. wasted time and effort. looking back, i realize it was a one-sided friendship, maybe she really didn't want to be friends with me. that's fine and i'm glad it was her who killed it. the friendship's dead. i am going to bury it.
Great capture. From the thumbnail I thought it was a model railway! True friends are hard to come by and most people have only a handful fo them throughout their lives. I have one friend from childhood that I stay in touch with. It's not nice to be used and discarded.
What a super shot - at first glance it looks like toy trains. I am sorry for your loss of friendship. I have stood in those shoes and it is hurtful but you are stronger because of it..
Love the miniature processing! It does look like a toy train set.
It is always painful when friendships end, but we can survive if we have other good, true friends to support us.
Is this tilt shift? It looks like a toy train set! I'm sorry to hear about your "friend", but yes, it may not have been as close as you thought. You know you've got a real friend when you can weather a storm, apologize to one another and move on to a better friendship than before. Don't worry, the inspiration will return.
