my get pushed project for this week is to do a "harris shutter effect" photo, whereby three action photographs, with one thing that is constant and not moving, are combined.
as you can see the result is an epic fail, but i'm posting it here just the same so my push partner can see that i tried.
as you know, i have a dislike for a lot of processing and i would admit it is also one of my few weaknesses, and there's just no motivation for me to use photoshop (or any derivations thereof) and that is why i have no photoshop installed in my computer. i did this in pixlr because it's the program i'm more comfortable with and it's a lot like photoshop, too. i don't like neither.
yup, this push is my kryptonite.
and i'm still not having photoshop installed on my laptop.
OK, I would not call this a fail at all. First, I have NO idea how to combine 3 shots, let alone 2 shots. And, capturing smoke is not easy. I like the way that you edited it and that the smoke is different colors. I say well done! (and I don't have photoshop either . . .)
Do you take the shots on top of one another- sort of like a double exposure, or do you merge them in post processing? It seems to me that if it is the former, very difficult to pull off. The latter- much much easier. This is definitely worth trying again.
@salza - it is quite an ordeal for me to do it. thank you, sally. looking forward to yours.
@eniaral - you need to have a lot of time on your hands to get into processing as complex as this. thank you, laraine.
@henrir - really?!? thank you, henri. you're so sweet!
@olivetreeann - three separate shots, you colour one red, the other gree and then blue. and then you layer them, the result would be that the immobile object retains its natural colour and yes, it is post processing. thank you, ann.
If you weren't so talented, it wouldn't be so hard to find you a challenge that would challenge you. IMO no photographer likes processing as the art is to capture the image without needing the processing. That being said. I think you DID AWESOME! Thank you for accepting my kryptonite challenge. :)
@tulsapackerbacker - thank you, fiona. this was a really difficult challenge for me, especially that it involved a good amount of post-processing. but i suppose we all have weaknesses and although i know there are a lot of things i still have to learn, i'm disappointed in myself with these results. but i thought it was better that i have something to show for my efforts, than not doing the challenge, otherwise i wouldn't have known that weakness. so thank you for the challenge, i did have some fun anyway.
not an epic fail at all, & I have attempted this & it is reeely HARD!! Don't be disappointed - learning (even about ourselves) is always a positive outcome... :)
