sunday morning as we were getting ready to go and pick up the grandsons, i spotted this thing on my shower curtain. i might have displaced it from wherever it was bunking in the bathroom as the night before i vacuumed the ceiling.
it was jumping but kept still for a few moments while i took some shots. when i turned the tap on, it jumped on to the water. not my fault that it went down the drain. and i was not about to rescue it either.
and it's colour is perfect for today - 'russet'
thank you, mr. spidey, and by the way, mary beth says hi.
@tara11 - i know, ewww! that's what i said, too, when i saw it. then i thought better and went to get my camera because MB came to mind. it's not big, it's about the size of my thumb's nail. good thing i had the 10x macro filter on the lens. it almost looks gelly-like. thank you, tara.
@valpak - spiders are never pretty, valerie! if this wasn't russet coloured, i'd have posted it at the back of the album. hehehe! thank you, valerie.
It is amazing what this photography hobby makes us do isn't it? I'm out in the woods looking for snakes.... they should be coming out of their nests any day now ;-) I so want to get a shot of one!
@helstor - i thought that i would draw the line on snakes, but for a challenge last year, i had to "face my fear" and snake is my greatest fear just thinking about it makes me have nightmares. so i went to the zoo and took a few shots. it made me edgy for several days. it's on my 365 album but i transferred it to december 2010 if you want to take a look. yup, anything for 365.
@678tabby - i don't try to like them, june. in fact my first reaction is to swat the heck out of them. i spray around the house before i vacuum just to make sure everything that is not welcome in my home is dead and unresisting when the machine sucks them up. that is just my second spider shot and unless i see something that is spectacular i won't be photographing any anymore. thank you, june.
Ewwwwww! Thanks to MaryBeth, I will now at least look at and appreciate a spider shot- but after that second of admiration, I'm on to the next insect-free photo!

@espyetta - lol, MB!
@lafish - thank you, laurie.
