this photograph is 29 years old. it's an original print from 1984 when i was in europe. i took this on 'our' way from antwerp to luxumbourg, driving at a very high speed in a tunnel through the mountains. i saw the tree and quickly aimed my camera and was able to snap about 3 shots. i just realized that even then i could take reasonably good pics from a fast moving car.
taken with my Minolta XG-1, i think the film was called kodachrome (slide film). seeing this brings me pure joy and brings back lots of good memories.
my sister wrote to me on facebook that she dreamed i was at the van gogh museum. she is 52 years old and i have better memories. she was in college at the time studying fine arts and she was into van gogh and other artsy fartsy artists. she must have dreamed seeing the photographs i took after i came back from the trip.
Your sister sounds as if she is on the creative side as you! You have been good at pictures for a long time! This is a fabulous shot of the tree from your POV!
@cheribug - i forgot what their speed limit was at the time, but it was definitely much faster than our speed limits here in america. and this started as just a small "hole" in the distance and i was lucky that the slr didn't jam, because i didn't have any understanding of the DIN, aperture thingies at the time - well, i still don't, so...thank you, my cheribug!
@maggiemae - she was the most artistic and she was the only one who went to school in pursuit of that artistry. in my family, i was the one who didn't have any artistic inclination then. thank you for your comment about my photos. looking at the old ones now, i see that there's a bit of artistry in me, too. just a tad bit though. :-) thank you, maggiemae.
This is gorgeous! You should never underestimate how talented you are. You are a wonderful inspiration to many others! I love looking at your shots and reading the narrative that accompanies them. :-)
So cool and a FAV!
