on our drive this morning, we passed by a house with this tall sunflower plant. by tall i mean about 8 feet or higher. i had to stand so far back to get the whole of it in the frame.
in the book "photography and the art of seeing", the author, freeman patterson, tells us to take "time to pause and think to see how best we can convey the scene effectively."
taking the first photo of this sunflower plant, the image created simply showed it is a tall plant. but it wouldn't really tell you that it is tall unless i took a photo of myself standing beside it which was not possible because my driver didn't want to, and besides i had to take the photo myself anyway. so the best way to convey how tall this plant is to take a shot of the topmost flower from where i stood and included the sky and some of the whispy clouds overhead. i had to zoom it in so you can see the bee that looked like it's glued on the sunflower because it never moved all the time i was there. also i spared your eyes from seeing the naked man behind the sunflower bush. but i know you think i'm kidding again but it's the truth, only this time he was half-naked with his belly grotesquely drooping put of his pants.
thank you for your kind visits and comments; they are so much appreciated.
I expect the bee was equally entranced by this naked man and that's why it didnt move! Hardly entranced! I think what you have done works well to give the impression of height!
