Niagara Falls is the collective name for three waterfalls that straddle the international border between Canada and the United States; more specifically, between the province of Ontario and the state of New York. They form the southern end of the Niagara Gorge.
above are the American Falls and the smaller Bridal Veil Falls which are totally situated in the U.S. the goat island separates the two falls.
for the artist challenge, the artist featured being art wolfe.
Absolutely amazing! The power of the water is just phenomenal. You have chosen the perfect spot to capture the falls from! Is one given the yellow rain suit (I presume that's what they are!) whilst you wait in the line or is it something one has to purchase?
@salza - they give you the raincoat as you enter the ramp to the boat, part of the fee, i guess, but you have the option of keeping it or putting it in their recycling bin. the two sides coordinate their colours everyday. on this day, the canadian had green for the boat and blue for the 'behind the falls' tour, while the americans have the blue for the boat and yellow for their other tour. i've never gone on the behind the falls tour, maybe ann @olivetreeann will do that in october, if it's still open. i haven't seen the falls from the american look out though. i should do that before summer ends. or when you come. :-)
@summerfield Great shot- we can do the look out- that's fine with me. Since we will be able to meet up most of the times I'm up in Batavia, we can do them in any order we want!
