tried the frozen bubble again this morning. it was a pleasant -8 celcius but there was no wind so i was like an idiot playing with bubbles in my balcony.
i was so fascinated by my handywork that i was just staring at it, waiting for it to freeze. for a long time it just clung to the railing then it developed a tiny hole until that hole became what you see here. it's not the best (no kidding!!) but it wasn't really freezing so tick off the bucket list with just a half check. but i wanted to share with you. definitely worth revisiting, and soon!
now where is that deep freeze they've been warning us about? bring it on!
@henrir You took the word right out of my mouth! @summerfield I do live the looks of the bubble. my first thought was, oh what a beautiful bowl. the deep freeze will be back next week. enjoy the reprieve.
Very nice focus on this half bubble. We got the deep freeze today - for another 3 days. You can have it if you want it - because I certainly don't want it!
great focus .... it was 64 degrees here yesterday and in the teens now. Mother nature is so fickle ... single digits in the morning so might try frozen bubbles again. Tried last week but not happy with captures ...
@lesip - do you use store-bought bubbles? i followed a recipe i got from someone around here but it didn't work for me. the dollar store ones are better. i'm excited to see your bubbles!
It's hard to get the perfect conditions for this subject. We've had the right temperatures, but too much wind and I hope to try it again this year too. Good luck with the next one Ms.V. :)
This looks great- I'm waiting for the freezing temps too. I want to give it a shot again as well. So did you mix up your own concoction or did you use a store-bought bubble mix?
