well, i did another go at that photoshop globe shit and once again i was stumped. just as well, i've gone as far as the reflection on the ball and that was it. sooooo....as i've told you before, i am one who takes what i can from a situation, then i move on. in this case to my favourite program, ribbet. ribbet is much improved these days and it's a lot easier. methinks i will have to remove that photoshop and be content with ribbet. i just don't have that much patience.
i know! i know! why didn't i just use pho.to? well, i just might.
This is a different twist on the photo globe. I'm still way behind on learning Photoshop. Still trying to figure out Lightroom. Seems like when they updated Photoshop to the Creative Cloud, it became more complicated. Just when I think I've got the hang of some of the basics, it seems I can't apply them.
I spent ages and ages battling with globes and Elements (never tried ribbet) and was staggered that pho.to did what it did in seconds. No reflections or shadows though. Strangely it took a lot of the fun away. I prefer your version!
Well you are much more advanced that I on PhotoShop. I am still trying to merge two pictures again. Don't know how I did it the first time. I also love ribbet.com. I love this globe. I have no idea how you did it in PhotoShop. Good job.
Impressed you would try it in photo shop and thrilled to be the center of your universe! I am the proverbial old dog and figure I will pass to maybe greater glory without ever having even attemped PS! Brilliantly done!
Very nicely put together. I took the easy way out and used the website that Ann provided to produce my globe.
There is a really nice (and simple) YouTube video by Gavin Hoey to put a globe together. I can let you have the link if you would like it.
@salza - in fact i was watching that gavin hoey video and i get stumped all the time when it comes to the part before the black circle thing. nothing he says in the video worked for me from that point on and it was quite frustrating. so i just take whatever i got and brought it down to ribbet and it was quite fine. thanks, sally.
