askewed sunset by summerfield

askewed sunset

here's how the sunset looked from the skypod (that's the little pod at the top of the picture on the right) with the city below and yay! a plane above it. this is not a good photo in the technical sense, but it's my take on toronto's sunset (without the use of a tripod).

my creativity and very limited photographic skills have been put to a test by this challenge (i tell you, murals and doors are an easy fall back). i feared taking photographs at night because i know i suck at it, but with your encouragement, i tried and even succeeded in having a few really good shots which i am quite proud of.

today it's a bit coolish in toronto but the skies were splendid and the sunset was rather magnificent. and i love my city and i am proud of it.

i will be making a slide presentation of the good shots i made of the tower and will post it on my photoblog; i shall let you know when that's done so you can view them. (yay! one more day left!)
beautiful sunset and very creative to show where you took the pic from!

I agree with Gail. Nice collage showing where you took that great sunset from. I like your night shot of the tower too.

And the sun is setting on your CN Tower challenge .... excellent perseverance, lots of great pics ... and just one more to go, on the eve of Canada Day!

@gailreese @pamfromcalgary @roth @sunnygreenwood - thank you so much, dear ladies. i'm so glad you like it. i learned a lot from this self-imposed challenge, and your encouragement helped me to do well. there are still so many vantage points that i have not gone to photograph the CN tower and it probably will be a recurring subject in the months to come.

anne, you're right! how fitting is it that it's ending on the eve of our nation's birthday!

I Really do need to get out there. We don't have any buildings that tall in Edmonton where we can get a view like this

@bkbinthecity - come on, of course there are many tall buildings in edmonton! you probably just can't access their rooftops hehehe. thank you.

That is true. We used to have a building where the 33rd floor was open to the public just for the reason of getting a great view but for some reason they closed it which was really sad. We do have a hotel with a revolving restaurant on the top but it is quite expensive so I don't get to go there very often

But of course you had to have a sunset.........! And I think it's beautiful!!

@altadc - thank you, alta. have you been to toronto?

weird...I soooo thought I had posted a comment on this shot. great sunset (great capture of the plane)...and the tower is being immortalised on the net through your project (you should ask the organisation running the tower to have a link to your shots!)
