breakfast by summerfield

breakfast

my normal breakfast is boring so i get to treat this photo with a nice framing just to prettify it a bit. partner and i are going in a few minutes to london (ontario, that is) to visit the grands, ivy and jack. that's why i had to eat my breakie early as we won't have time to go for our usual breakfast treat.

so on weekday mornings, my breakfast consists of oatmeal with dried blueberries (hopefully will switch back to fresh ones) and raw pine nuts. and because it's the weekend, i get to have some scrambled eggs. then as the morning wears on, i'd be having more nuts, that's why i am nutty! and fruits. then go to the patisserie. hahaha! that's how i lowered my cholesterol count.
very healthy

aw, not allergic. diverticulitis- is that how it is spelled? either way, nuts cause me to burp, which was ok for years but now i bloat and that is painful. and the burps smell horrible - almost knock me out! walnuts cause the most problems, and of course, i adore them. am finding now that lots of things are getting added to the list. my doctors believe it has something to do with how i ate as a child vs now; we made our own flour, cereal, and when i went out on my own, i did not do that. got very sick when the boys were young like someone who was bulimic. have to be careful about food dyes and additives. pretty easy, though, when you do all your own cooking, shopping and eat the same stuff all the time!

i love oatmeal too!in fact this what i eat at work: youghurt with oatmeal, cornflakes and raisins!

@alia_801 - without the blueberries and the nuts, the oatmeal is the most boring breakfast ever - i prefer toast anytime, as i can lather it with lots of jam or almond butter. thank you, alia.

@catsmeowb - thank heavens i don't have that problem. my problem is that i eat too much and i give in to my cravings even though i'm bursting full. i guess it stems from the fact that growing up we were so poor we had nothing to eat almost, well we do have the 3 square meals but they were little servings. so i suppose i am making up for those times. thank you again, camille.

@meoprisan - growing up, oatmeal to us was a special treat because where i grew up, we don't grow oats so they were imported thus they were expensive and my parents seldom afforded it. but now that i can have it everyday it just to me is boring! thank you, mihaela.
