incredibly beautiful day in toronto, albeit still cold. went to see what happened to my magnolia tree and found out its buds never really fully bloomed, they're still the same as the last time i photographed them, some buds were semi-opened and the rest just turned brown, the poor babies. the other magnolia tree still has its buds and not opening soon.
last night, 'though, i saw the moon when the sky was still light just before dusk and it was big in the sky like a pizza pie. i thought i'd try to catch tonight it as it rose from the waters. so after lunch, i sauntered on down to the beaches and enjoyed the really blue hue of the sky and the lake. at the pond just going into the beaches proper, i was taking shots at a pair of ducks when suddenly i heard a loud 'quack!' i looked down and there was this loon looking up at me.
'oh, hi, mr. loon, didn't see you there!"
'quack!'
'i see you and the missus are resting wink wink and i kind of disturbed you. i'm very sorry. imma gonna go now, k? you go on back and do what you were doing.'
i motioned for him to go back to his beloved and i walked back up to the path while mr. loon eyed me, making sure i was at a safe distance. but not before i took a photo (well, maybe a lot) of him and loverly, as they swam about and preened and mooned me.
speaking of moon. i remembered last year that i took a photo of what was touted as 'super moon' (the moon at its nearest distance to the earth). so tonight, since i was there anyway, i waited around the boardwalk for quite a while before mr. moon decided to show at exactly 8:10.
i knew it was coming and still when it did, i felt overwhelmed by the moon rising out of the waters of lake ontario, its deep pink hue a stark contrast to the now deep dark blue water and sky.
a young girl passed by and asked if that was the moon, grabbed her iphone, started to take photos and asked if she could sit down and watch it with me. a lady was walking her dog and a group of young men were playing frisby near the water and i caught their images as i took photos of the moon.
and that's my amusement for the day.

@alia_801 - hahaha! thank you, alia. everytime i pressed my shutter those two would just dove and get their butts up, it was quite amusing and frustrating.
@jannkc - not so fun now, though, my back aches from getting too cold sitting on the bench last night! hahaha! thank you, jann.
@olivetreeann - thank you, ann. as you can see, it doesn't take a lot to amuse me. :-)
