playing swap again (thank heavens for the swap words!). i have a cupboard full of spices and herbs in jars and guess what, no allspice. so, we switch to 'alley'.
alley as in a bowling alley, like the photo on the right. that's our ten-year old grandson on his way to another spare. i kept giving the two boys instructions on how to throw the ball to get strikes or to get spares. of course they beat my score.
partner: you deliberately let them win, didn't you?
me: well, one of them would cry if i didn't!
yup, we spoil them (to a reasonable extent, of course!). that's lola's role in their lives.
the photo on the left is the alley i pass by whenever i go to the market at lunchtime. this part of downtown toronto has a lot of vintage buildings.
Cool but at first my feeble mind kept trying to make it work as a single shot. I was wondering if it was a big window or a open bay door on a corner building by the ally
Great shot and usage for the word, "alley!" Love the pov on both and the lighting on them. He (grandson) has the posture of a pro already .. I am always the lowest scoring person in bowling. A five year old could beat me. These pics are wonderful ... both a part of your life, summerfield.
@pandorasecho - yes, they are two photos - i added an older photo to one i took yesterday. thank you, dixie.
@pamfromcalgary - thank you, pam. it's true, grandparents care about their grandkids as much as their own children, but we're done with the rearing part, that's their parents' responsibility. the grands should be able to have to get away with what they want even if it's just for a day or two, then they go back to reality.
@karenann - this grandson is a southpaw and a quick study. any kid could be great at a lot of things if they are encouraged and learned to discipline themselves. thank you, karenann.
@inertie - thank you, pinar. there's no allspice in the cupboard and after your and alia's super shots, i didn't believe i'd be able to do any better. a swap was inevitable. :-)
Great alleys! Thankfully I had some allspice. There are no alleys in my community and if I walked into a bowling alley just to take a shot, I don't know is I'd be welcome. I think I prefer the one with your grandson. Love his stance!
Like the play on words. Great captures on both. Love the lighting and shadows on the alleyway. Especially from the person near the wall. Like the sense of movement and waiting on the right.
Hi Summerfield. Well I am still on my vacation and certainly enjoying it. I have now managed to post a few shots from the trip and am now starting to get caught up with others. Now as for your shot this is such a creative shot
@bkbinthecity - hi, brian, glad to hear you are enjoying your vacation, but i hope that you are enjoying it with my friend melody :-) i'll mosey on down your album tonight when i get back home. thank you, brian and please give my hello to melody.

@gbert204955 - thank you, gilbert.
@catsmeowb - thank you, camille.
@losthorizon - thank you, beau.
@michaelelliott - thank you, ME.
your word is 'haberdashery'. if you give me one word then we can both create a haiku on Friday? yes?
@meoprisan - thank you, mihaela.
@danig - you are so cruel to me: haberdashery?!? :-) thank you, DG.
