waxing gibbous

i haven't posted a shot of the moon for quite a while. this one was teasing me earlier in the evening. against blue sky, it was stunning. then i forgot about it until around eight so i went to the driveway wanting to shoot it again through the trees. i think it was a success, don't you think so? i can't do this with my dSLR. well, not yet, and i think i might need a special lens to shoot the moon this close. this early, i've already hinted to partner that i want a wide-angle lens. is Christmas here yet?

thank you for your views and comments; know that they are much appreciated.
I do like this shot of the moon through the trees.

I love the composition of the photo. Surprised at what a great moon shot that a p&s can take!

Yes it is!! Awesome moon shot! Wow!
I need a longer lens to get a decent moon shot plus some cropping.
My Point & shoot was worse for that.

Beautiful moon shot! Can't do this with my p&s and my 35mm doesn't have a powerful enough lens. Oh well, guess I'll just have to look at yours!!

Stunning. Love the hint of blue in the background. So subtle. Like how you composed the shot through the trees. Brings tension to the shot. Perfect clarity on the moon itself. Fav for me.

Good Grief! This is amazing! A p&s? I thought my p&s was fabulous but shots of the moon come like tiny dolls buttons if you can see it at all; I went for a high iso on my shot as no tripod and thought I would get camera shake but may well try again sometime. This is fabulous

@claireuk - thank you, claire. i'm lazy to lug around my tripod so this is handheld but i rested my wrist against a stinky garbage bin.
