for the next seven days, the challenge is black and white 'shapes'. i choose triangle, at least for today, just because i want to post this photo i took yesterday of the train track we saw on the long way home. let's see if i can sustain it for the whole week, or maybe i'd choke and revert to another shape.
on weekends when we're not in a hurry to go anywhere, partner makes it a point to take the long way home. he usually would take a route that is not a bus route or an out of the way place. train track is one of the must-do in my bucket list for this year. i wonder where i put that list...
i was crouched on the road when i took this. the angle gives the track a 'triangle' look. and speaking of triangles, there are also a lot of triangles happening in the power lines at the back, if you must look closely.

@steeler - i know, howard. i fell into the challenge and didn't notice the black and white requirement part. horrors! now i have to think black and white while hunting for something apt to photograph. thank you, my friend.
@myautofocuslife - thank you, livia. i was just crouched when i took the photo. i wanted to flop on my tummy, but this is a 'live' track and while the trains that use this would have a schedule, the road intersecting it is a busy road so i couldn't really linger long enough to think about perspectives or pov's.
Good start- I was thinking of doing triangles too, but was afraid I wouldn't have a whole week of them Actually I was having trouble deciding on anything. The problem was that I'd already done a week of b/w with my numbers and I really wanted to do this week in sepia! But, I didn't feel comfortable tweeking the challenge to my personal preference so I was left with making a decision. Since I'd already done a more abstract week with the lines, I ended up with the floral shape and shot. Once again, I'm thinking about the calendar shot and not just the week! OCD to be sure!
@michaelelliott - thank you, ME. we're on black and white mode this week. i'm not a fan of black and white, although they're good for some shots, but if i tweak the colours a bit, i get this very pleasing tone, kinda like an old photo, eh?
@olivetreeann - i haven't given this much thought yet, but for sure by tomorrow i'm all primed for triangle. i am on triangle mood though. plus of course, i haven't yet discovered how to take b/w with my new camera. must read the manual. otherwise, the old canon point and shoot will have to do the job. it's a pity, this is too pretty in colour with all the greens around it! thank you, ann.
Nice! And those power towers have lots of triangles! Yes! Train tracks are still on my "to do" list. I have at least one shot...of a pigeon walking on tracks, but I want to try more!
