power lines - inspired by margaret bourke-white's "oil rigs"
partner didn't think power lines have any artistic merit. i do. it spurs my imagination of giant robots from another dimension and accidentally making their way to our earthly dimension and there they are trying to conquer us. like we don't have enough politicians to rule our lives.
i'm getting this challenge started but of course. i would urge you to participate in this artist challenge. all you need do is look at some of the works of this photographer i've chosen and see if you can come up with something similar to her style or you can recreate any of her shots. but you don't have to hire an airplne or a chopper just to get the same aerial shots she had. you can always go to a tall building and shoot down.
I have often looked at power poles and noted how they look like mechanical robots with outstretched arms holding up the wires so we can go under...yet there lurks a sinister feel to it...I love the drab cold grey of this pic..very suitable =)
I loved your first paragraph, so me! I used to take a lot of industrial style shots in the 80's, when the big hair and shoulder pads allowed of course. Like this very much
@claireuk - oooh, i remember the big hair, although i never got into that, but i loved the padded shoulders. i wore my shoulder pads well until the 2000's. now, i can't stand them. thank you, claire.
@steeler - thank you, howard.
