I walked up the hill to our next door neighbour's house this afternoon, a quarter of a mile away. They're only there in school holidays and some weekends so I sometimes go and look at their pond and then send them photos of what they're missing. It was a warm, sunny afternoon and there were a couple of these dragonflies flitting about. I've seen this type before but I've never seen one settle so I was delighted when this one obliged.
It looks better on black, it stands out more.
